Saturday 26 July 1845Hildebrand I am very glad to hear that Lord Glengall is so much pleased with Aas [Lodge]. --- I suppose the boat is for Townyard Lake. I suppose you have some small boat you can lend him --- it is (I know) a great advantage to be able to fish at on Townyard Lake occasionally, as Lord Howth got a boat sent there.--- I do not think Lord Altamont would let the Lodge, because I think he is likely in future to be at Westport at in Autumn, & the Lodge would always be a means of giving amusement to his friend s when they visit him at Westport -- however, do not fail to send him Lord Glengall’s letter --- I suppose you know that you are to direct to Beyrout [Beirut] until the end of August, & after then to Alexandria --- care of A. N. de Pothonie at Alexandria. I had a letter yesterday from Lord Altamont from Constantinople. Tell Lord Glengall that you will forward his proposal to Lord Altamont.--- I should fear that the 3rd of August will be too late to catch the next Post to Malta.--- I w[oul]d write from Westport on the 2nd Lord Altamont is going down from the Black Sea through Asia to Jerusalem & the Holy Land. Yours Catherine SligoThis is just the right time of year for budding plums & peach trees if Lynch has got any plum Stocks read for budding.
